Janice’s Story

When I checked into my AirBnB in Mandrakia, immediately a tiny, young kitten ran up to me chirping, tail high, asking for pets. The sweetest kitten I've ever come across. I named her Katy after my AirBnB host.

She was alarmingly light in weight and had ear mites. I knew I had an obligation to feed this young kitten along with her siblings Chris and Anastasia (named after AirBnB host team member and car rental employee.)

The whole time I stayed in Milos these three consistently came for more food and even slept outside the door overnight.

Since day one on the island, all I could think about was the colony of cats that would come to my AirBnB whenever I'd come home, watching them devour the food I gave them. Drink the water bowl down to the last drop.

I was devastated to leave Chris, Anastasia, and Katy, who followed me to my car knowing that they might not get the same nourishment and care again. There had to be something I could do to prevent seeing the amount of hungry, sick, and injured kittens I came across.
